Orange Poppyseed Cinnamon Rolls
Oh heavens to Betsy. Remember the cinnamon rolls I made a few weeks ago? The ones that made you want to whimper? Well, Stalena thought up an orange poppyseed version that had me out of my mind. So when the baking urge hit last weekend, I decided to make cinnamon rolls and orange poppyseed cinnamon rolls which actually contain zero cinnamon. (I don't have a clue when I reached the point where making cinnamon rolls from scratch didn't seem like a big deal.) I'm going to refer you to the prior cinnamon roll post for the recipe. I wish I could provide a nifty link, but let's be honest: I have no clue how to do that. So just scroll down the page and find cinnamon rolls on the recipe list on the right hand side of the blog.
Orange poppyseed variation:
Spread the butter on the dough and the granulated sugar. Now sprinkle on poppyseeds to your liking.
And then add some more because you'll think the first amount isn't enough. Zest an orange and make a line of zest down the center of the dough. Roll the dough like usual. Once the baked rolls come out of the oven, cut the orange in half and squeeze fresh juice onto the dough. Finally, when making the icing, add more fresh squeeze orange juice. Then weep for joy when you taste your creation.
Just to remind you about the original cinnamon rolls...
For the love...
:)
Save yourself. Don't even start with this recipe.
